About Us
One Collective, Two Stories.
The West Coast Baseball Collective grows the game across the West Coast. The Abbotsford Cardinals grow the players and shape the people inside it. Here's what it's all about, and why we're changing the game.
01 Why the Collective exists
The best players are grown.
A hundred years ago the St. Louis Cardinals stopped leaving player development to luck. They built the first farm system, so a young ballplayer got the same coaching and the same standards wherever he went, and it changed the game.
The West Coast Baseball Collective is a new player development organization founded here in British Columbia, with the Abbotsford Cardinals at the centre of it. It brings together elite coaching, strength and mental performance, individualized year-round training and high-level competition. Cardinals players get full access to all of it, and the Cardinals continue exactly as before in the BCPBL. Nothing changes there. What's new is everything around them.
The Collective gets about five years with a player, and it's the five decades after that matter most. Five years of growth for five decades of leadership.
That's what we're building with the West Coast Baseball Collective.
