Bantam Cardinals win national qualifier, finish season 39-14 overall.
The Bantam Cardinals finished the 2026 summer with 39 wins, 14 losses and no ties.
The last of it was played on the other side of the country. The road there ran through Baseball BC’s 15U AAA qualifier, the tournament that decides which teams from this province go to the national championship. The Cardinals won it on August 2 without losing a game: 2-1 over the Penticton Tigers, 3-0 over the Coquitlam Reds in the semi-final, and 10-0 over the Mid Island Pirates in the final.
Baseball Canada’s Ray Carter Cup, the national 15U championship, ran from August 20 to 23 in Summerside, Prince Edward Island. Ten provinces sent teams. British Columbia opened against Ontario and won 5-0. Saskatchewan beat them 5-2 the next morning and Quebec beat them 9-0 that afternoon. They closed against Alberta and won 4-2. Two wins, two losses, and the medal round went on without them.
Eleven of the eighteen players on that British Columbia roster list Abbotsford as their hometown. No other city in the province supplied more than one.
A season is longer than its last week, and this one ran to 39 wins.
Thank you to the players, the coaches, the families and everyone in the Cardinal community who showed up all season. The Bantams are back on the field in September.
